As we move into the implementation of the 10 yr plan will it deliver an NHS fit for purpose.

NHSE and the DHSC have been at odds to deliver reform and in sweeping cuts the government has simply removed NHSE and announced sweeping cuts across ICBs to ensure funding is delivered at the the front line of NHS care.

However many questions remain unanswered as NHS staff and patients seek to answers to understand how they will be affected and what the new structures will look like.

Improvement in activity have been achieved by paying the demands of junior doctors however they are back at the negotiating table and waiting lists will inevitably climb undermining Labour’s election promises as strikes impact once again on elective activity .

The race from analogue to digital set out in the NHS plan will drive down some activity with notable successes in digital imaging and AVT however they are not simply a one size fits all.

Quality care requires motivated staff and the workforce are growing tired of political demands for more efficiencies and activity whilst systems are under intense pressure.

Staff seeking to leave the NHS early and an undervalued workforce risk undermining the ambition in the NHS plan
